Mentaining healthy skin isn’t only difficult some times but can seem like a chore. Whenever i have a bad break out or my skin looks tired I get frustrated and pray for a miracle to happen. I have comet realise you just to find the right product and the right regime to keep your skin in check. Here are a series of my favourite skin care products and the serums I couldn’t live without. All the products have different purposes but together help meet closer to the skin I want!
I read about Glycolic Acid online when I started seeing more and more brands create products based around it. I did some research to find out what it was actually meant to do to hep your skin. I learnt that:
- Glycolic acid is part of the group of active compounds known as AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids). Derived from cane sugar.
- It has the smallest molecules in the group so is able to penetrate skin deeply and easily, making it the most effective for treating fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness, oiliness etc
- Chemical peels use a high percentage of this acid and can be very effective if done safely and properly.
After learning more about it and finding out it is used in chemical peels I wanted to get my hands on a product that contains it and see if it will work any miracles!
I decided to try the Nip + Fab Serum after reading good reviews. It is really good for combination skin and helped me smooth my skin a lot more than I expected. I tend to apply it to my face and neck just before I go to bed; the product isn’t slime or sticky, it soaks into your straight in minutes making it easy to use any time of the day or night. When I wake up my skin feels refreshed and a lot softer. It also evens my skin tone which is something I always want in a skin care product because I have very rosie cheeks!
I would definitely recommend this serum and guess what!? It’s on offer in boots for £7.47 – so why not give it a try?
I have been looking for a fab toner for a while now! I came across this Benefit one after receiving some free samples. I can’t say it works miracles for my skin tone but it does make my skin feel so clean and smooth.
At first I was a little confused as to what this product is actually meant to do to your skin… I was very disappointed when I used it for the first 4-5 days or so because I was honestly not seeing any different AT ALL! But I stuck to it and after a week and a half I started to notice my skin was a lot smoother and my pores were a lot more visible. I just need to be more patient!
This is my all time favourite moisturiser! Me and my boyfriend often fight over this before we go to bed because it is just so damn good. It doesn’t feel sticky or too watery – it is nice and silky. You can feel the difference first thing in the morning. My dry skin in next to non-existent with this cream!
The vaseline serum saved my stubborn dry skin on my elbows, knees and feet! It is a great product for the price and I wouldn’t live without it.
I have really bad spot prone skin. I normally get big, red spots that really ache. Especially on my jaw line, chin and forehead. Using this spot cream reduces the ache and redness. it doesn’t eliminate my spots but it does tame them and make them go away a lot quicker!
As mentioned above, i have bad, spot prone skin. I love these pads for my T-Zones; especially for the black heads on my nose. It makes my skin feel smoother and refreshed. It helps reduce the visibility of my spots and because I scrub quite hard with them, a lot of my dry skin go aways.
Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel collection £2.99 – £3.59
The boots tea tree range is incredible for the price. I have always loved anything containing tea tree as I think it really helps my skin. These low-priced products are great for when your skin needs a refresher after a bad break out.
No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush £24.95 (£8.00 for the heads)
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE THING IN THE WORLD! Honestly, I couldn’t live without this handy device. Of course it is designed and meant to be used with cleansing lotion but I also use it with my face scrubs to really work the micro beads into my skin. it has two-speed settings for different intensities. The brushes are soft on your skin but make such a difference. My skin feels amazing after using this cleansing brush. It is a lot cheaper than many other similar products on the market and I would recommend it anyone who has rough skin that needs life again. As well as using it with my face scrubs I pour a little bit of my Benefit Toner on it and really work the toner into my pores; while at the same time my skin is getting cleared of any impurities by the brush. I honestly love this product!
This Yes to Grapefruit really helps reduce the redness of my red spots. Just a little it goes a long way and evens out my skin tone. It doesn’t clog your pores or feel heavy on your skin. A thin layer makes such a difference!
L’Oreal Paris Skin Serums
L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum £16.99
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Hydrating Smoothing Serum £12.99
I feel serums are important for maintaining healthy looking skin and these two L’oreal ones mainly help me reduce the bags under my eyes and tired looking skin. I also think they help the elasticity in my skin. I don’t use these serums everyday, mainly in the morning if I am very tired and my skin needs a pick me up. I love the firming agent in the revitalift serum as you can definitely feel it after long-term use.
